Emotional Intelligence
(EQi-2.0)
Why is EQ important?
Why should we care?
Emotional Intelligence helps us to understand how we are in relationships with ourselves and with others. Having these skills and competencies to accurately know what emotion we are in and manage it as well as understand what emotions our team is in and manage them, supports effective leadership, relationship management, and social awareness.
As the Myers Briggs Company put it, “Emotional intelligence is a set of emotional and social skills that influence the way we perceive and express ourselves, develop and maintain social relationships, cope with challenges and use emotional information in an effective and meaningful way.”

AND...
What I love about it EQ is that it can change!!
It is not something that is static but rather dynamic, can grow and change as we experience life and if want it to.

“If your emotional abilities aren’t in hand if you don’t have self-awareness if you are not able to manage your distressing emotions if you can’t have empathy and have effective relationships, then no matter how smart you are, you are not going to get very far.”

As I work with individuals and groups on their Emotional Intelligence, they start to see things like:
-
Where they are active or inactive with various competencies in both their personal and professional lives.
-
Where they are over-using or under-using different emotional skills as well as what that might look like to others or how that impacts others
-
What they know is a truth for them to grow as an effective leader with support and goals to change.
-
Where the balance of the competencies is important such as anything else in life!
If you are interested in what increased EQ or balance could look like for you, your team, or your organization, let's discuss this further. I would love to support you in setting growth goals to change behaviors, enhance skill-building and develop the maturity necessary for effectiveness and relationship management.
